Migration Sets

Create Migration Set

Once configuration packages are marked Ready to Migrate, they become eligible for inclusion in a Migration Set. A Migration Set groups finalized configuration packages intended to be released together.

Important: Only configuration packages in Ready to Migrate status are available for selection.

Steps to Create a Migration Set

  1. Navigate to Release Management | Migration Sets in the Navigation Explorer.

  2. Click the ‘+’ Add icon.

  3. The New Migration Set form opens in the Configuration Panel.

  4. In the Migration Set Name field, enter a name (required).

  5. Select configuration packages to include:

    1. A list of configuration packages with Ready to Migrate status is displayed.

    2. Use the checkboxes to select one or more packages.

  6. Click Create to finalize and save the Migration Set.

  7. The new Migration Set appears under the Migration Sets node.

    Note: Visibility and access to Migration Sets and Configuration Packages are determined by assigned security privileges.

  8. After a Migration Set is created, the Configuration Panel displays summary information and lifecycle indicators:

    1. Progress Indicator (Step View)

      A visual tracker at the top marks the migration lifecycle steps:

      1. Open

      2. Added to Package

      3. Migrated

        Note: This indicator provides visibility into the release lifecycle stage for the Migration Set.

    2. Migration Set Name: Displays the name of the Migration Set.

    3. Status: Shows the current state of the Migration Set (e.g., “Open Migration Sets”).

  9. Viewing Included Configuration Packages:

    1. The Migration Set appears as an expandable section within a bordered box.

    2. Expand the Migration Set to view all configuration packages associated with it.

Note: After the Migration Set is created, proceed to create and promote the release package as the next step in the release management process.
